LISTEN: Canadian Sweetmen release 'Intro and New Cigarettes'

The Canadian Sweetmen release the studio version of ‘Intro And New Cigarettes’ (MBSC003) on 03.01.19 via Matte Black Sound Company. Formed in 2015, the Austin-based band has been stockpiling home recordings and subtly psyching-out their ‘too cold to swim’ surf tones without any form of internet presence, attracting fans by word of mouth and pop-up shows.

The band consists of Connor Oakley (Rare Magic, The Two Lips), Andre Black (Two Tone Blue), and Matthew McNeal - all performing under aliases on stage. The Canadian Sweetmen were featured in Slovenian music magazine It’s Psychedelic Baby in 2016:

“Taking influence from The Beach Boys' strain of psychedelia, songsters The Canadian Sweetmen are cool, direct and adroit- trading in traditional surf tones for a more peculiar sound.
